Porter's Creek Trail

Today's adventure took your daring host all the way through Sevierville, Pigeon Forge, and even Gatlinburg - all the way to Porter's Creek Trail. It was about a 4 mile hike roundtrip, according to trusty Mr. Garmin. Seems like a great place to go earlier in the spring - tons of trillium and I am guessing other wildflowers as well. Also a bunch of crittery type things. To whit, the critter list:

  • Lots of butterflies on the road and in the parking area
  • Tons of spiders
  • Millipedes
  • Some sort of salamander
  • Many different bees and flies
  • A bear!
I learned that I need a lot more practice with the macro lens and manual focus. I seem to have roughly 40 photos worth sharing out of nearly 400 I took. Argh!

Looks like picasa hasn't uploaded some other photos, so I'll make another post in a bit with a few of those. As always, here's the album link.
