Triathlon updates: training and Springbrook Sprint Tri!

It's been awhile.  I've been exhausted, and had some problems with the computer I use to upload my Garmin data.

So basically last week was full of training fail.  I miss 1 or 2 workouts, and didn't really feel up to par during the others, except for last weekend's brick.  We rode from Melton Hill Dam to Karns High School, where we ran the Karns 5K, and then rode back to the Dam.  Great workout - 15mi ride, 5k run, 15mi ride.  I felt wicked good during and after.

Ok, so on to yesterday!  I raced the Springbrook Sprint Triathlon!  I had a lot more fun during this race than I did during the West Side Y race.  My pacing during the swim was much more reasonable.  I was about 20 seconds slower, but also only stopped very briefly once for a rest.  Going on to the bike, I didn't feel as worn out as the previous race.  My bike was a little slower than I wanted, but still, pacing was good overall.  Same for the run.  Here are the Official results.  Comparison to my previous race:

Event Y time Y pace Springbrook Time Springbrook Pace
swim 4:21 .70m/s 4:34 .67m/s
T1 4:06 - 2:51 -
bike 29:24 15.22 mph 33:12
16.27 mph
T2 1:13 - 1:39 -
run 25:24 9.82 min/mi 28:34 9.52 min/mi
So, I was slower on the swim, and T2 (going from bike to run) but otherwise my paces improved! So yay me!

Also went on a 5 mile "recovery" run this morning, and am heading out to a brick in a little bit. I'm still not too bright.
