Some last PAX media

So I have posted a bunch about PAX, but maybe it's still hard to get an idea of how many people show up.  Well, check this out:

That's the line for people to get into the expo hall.  I guess it's hard to see, but IIRC, there were maybe 6 lines each that were 4 people wide.  So, lots of folks.  Seriously!  I took the following video as we went into the smaller hall for board games:

Once inside the board game hall, we managed to get a seat playing Dead of Winter.  We were actually pretty lucky - the game was full up the entire previous day.  Very, very popular.  This fine fellow was introducing the game

Shots of the pieces and the board.  It's basically a cooperative zombie survival game, but with (possible) traitors!  My friends and I had a ton of fun playing it, and I would seriously consider purchasing it if I could find folks to play with.

As my final PAX East 2014 photo, I leave you with this ... pink unicorn thing.

No one expects...

... the Mario Brothers at a bar!

They were obviously quite accustomed to getting their photos snapped, and were great sports!

Vacation food

I never seem to eat like this in knoxville....

Yummy yummy salumi plate.  Probably the first time I ever had real balsamic vinegar.

Spicy penne with jalapenos.  The jalapenos were a bit much, but otherwise it had a good flavor.

Raspberry sorbet.  Awww yeah!

PAX was more than a month ago

... and I'm still going through the photos!  This first shot gives you an idea of the crush of people, and overall size.

There are a couple of stages set up around where you can do things like Rock Band.  A couple of Links from Zelda did a pretty respectable job.

The player mat for Castle Dice.  I demoed this game (that's my play mat in fact!) and had a decent amount of fun with it.  It wasn't terribly complicated after playing through a couple of rounds.

Perspective

Playing around a bit with the fisheye lens.  It's a bit cray-cray.  This is looking straight out in front of me

This is looking down.  Notice my backpack in the lower left corner.  That thing was a few feet behind me.

A couple of artsy beauties

A couple of shots I tried to put a little more thought in to.  The first shows spring beauties from slightly different angles, with the ... stamens (pistils?) in a couple of configurations.  The second was a fun little shot where I managed to find a little spring beauty with a different background than normal.
