Farragut Fail

Today's walk was a relative bust. I decided to check out the Farragut Greenways. The problem is that Farragut's greenway maps and markings are quite inferior to Knoxville and Knox County. For example, this is the page for Grigsby Chapel Greenway. The greenway wasn't well marked at all, and I ended up not taking the most of the longer part of it. They have a PDF map here, but notice the lack of most road names, etc. Compare to the Knoxville greenways maps here. Pretty lame, I gotta say.

I also tried out the "Parkside Greenway." The idea is nice, a greenway that runs behind a lot of the stores at Turkey Creek. However, again, it's not totally clear from the website, or even the markings, where the greenway starts or ends. Once I finally found it, it ended up being a lot closer to I-40 than I would have liked. It was very loud, which can probably be blamed on the time (it was around 17:30 when I was out that way). Still, not ideal for a relaxing walk.

Anyway, I still got some good exercise in despite my grumblings. I will give Grigsby another try, not that I've been able to equate my GPS data to the maps provided by the Town of Farragut. You can view my trek here.

No new photos again, so I picked through some photos I took last summer soon after I got my camera. These pics come from the St. Louis Botanical Gardens, a pretty neat place that you wouldn't necessarily expect in St. Louis. I saw lots of really nifty flowers, especially in the Climatron. It's basically a little rain forest inside a geodesic dome. Good stuff.
