Backyard wildlife

This morning I was sitting on the couch without the TV on, for once. I heard some louder-than usual bird sounds from out on the balcony, and on further investigation saw not one, but 2 woodpeckers on the tree right outside!

They didnt' seem to get along very well, however, so I've only got shots of one. I am fairly sure it's a Red-bellied woodpecker.

So, here are some photos, most crops because my lens isn't totally awesome. Also, there's a tree in the way, so there's really no angle for a really clear shot. On the other hand, I can now kind of identify that sucker by its call, which is neat!



I really like the patterns on its back.
