DC Excursion, Day 1

Well, I seem to have been bamboozled into taking a short weekend trip up here to Washington, DC.  8 hours in a car with 2 other guys - what could go wrong?  It's not like we'd spend the entire time alternating between ragging on one another and making fun of the music being play.  Right?

Well anyway, guys gotta eat!  I was mostly in favor of Arby's - it's my go-to road trip food, very reliable in not making me ill.  Well, I did break down and agree to try some random restuarant off I-81 in Virginia.  I'm glad I did.  Edelweiss was extremely good!  I had the Hungarian-style Goulash.  Check out the grubbage.

Stuffed cabbage (yes, wrapped in bacon!)

Cabbage, green beans, more cabbage, and extremely tasty spaetzle.

My goulash:

And, of course, the aftermath.

Look closely ... in the rear, that used be an entire litre of beer.

After leaving Edelweiss, we made our way to the Udvar-Hazy Center, part of the National Air and Space Museum.  A friend recommended we swing by there before heading into DC, so as to avoid rush hour traffic.  The side trip was wicked awesome.  I took a bunch of photos, but of course the Internets here is slow, so I'm only posting a few.  We only got to spend ~90 minutes there, but we made it around to most of the aircraft, even if we didn't have time to read all the info.  Maybe next time!

OK, tired now.
