First, how I started:

Not terrible, not great. I wanted something a bit more modern and closer to the floor. The new TV is a bit bigger and it actually made me crane my neck to see the damned thing. So, after cleaning out the old, I had this:

Actually, I guess that's also after vacuuming, and pre-laying a few new cables. Now, starting to move the new entertainment center into place:

And after manhandling the TV into place, we have this:

Aaand after everything (in view! ;)) has been picked up, and new DVD storage has been populated, we have a finished product:

I don't like the imbalance caused by the subwoofer. I do have some tiny shelves I may stick on the wall and move the front speakers up there.
Parts list:
- TV - VIZIO XVT3D474SV 47-Inch Full HD 3D Full Array TruLED
- Receiver - Pioneer VSX-1020-K
- Speakers - Onkyo SKS-HT540 7.1
- TV stand - Ikea BESTÅ shelf unit/height extension unit
- Speaker Stands - Ikea LACK end table
- TV riser - Ikea LACK small shelves
I also did all custom speaker wires. Not because I'm that much of an audiophile or anything, but just because I wanted to learn what was involved. The wires I bought (12 AWG and later 16AWG) are definitely a lot more substantial than the ones that shipped with the speakers. Even went all out, bought some banana plugs, and (mostly) figured out how to use them correctly. Go me!
There are a few remaining bugs. Like I said, I'm not satisfied with the placement of the subwoofer, but there's a potential solution for that. I also miscounted HDMI cables, so it'll be a few days before the PS3 gets hooked back up.
I was also unable to use the backplate on the Besta unit, since it had no pre-cut holes, and I am saw-less. It should be easy to fix later, if I want. Remove the TV, remove top board from the Besta, slide in backplate, and redo.
