Heading to DC!

Yep, that's what I did over a month ago, and I'm just now starting to go through the photos I took on that trip.  Something like 900 of them.  I need to be a bit more discerning with the shutter release, I think.

Anyway, this is the first set of many photos.  We begin in the parking lot of my apartment.  Traveling Buddy #1 (TB1) and Traveling Buddy #2 (TB2) waiting for me to pack my junk into the vehicle:


At some point during the drive, we passed into Virginia...


And boy was it gloomy!


Luckily, we found gas stations!  TB2 was thrilled to have his photo taken at one!


I think I wrote about Edelweiss before, so I'll just post some more photos without too much more explanation.  We did talk TB2 into getting a full liter of some German beer:


He seems to be enjoying it!


TB1 helped us demolish the tasty food:


Unfortunately by the time we reached the end of the meal, TB2 realized that he had like half a liter of good German beer left!


So I ordered some tasty strawberry-shortcake-like stuff:

They had a nice selection of beer bottles there, too.  Not sure if all were available for consumption or not...
