Yep, that seems to be a pretty large (to me) copperhead. It probably would have been more than two feet long had it not been coiled up wanting to strike me. And me with just my cameraphone!
It actually lunged at me before I saw it. I think. It's a little hazy. I think I disturbed it about to snack on that poor little turtle you can see in the pics. I wanted to save the turtle, but I also wanted to not get bitten by the copperhead. So I wish that turtle the best of luck!
